The skills I have learned throughout my life have been primarily due to my love and passion for sports, specifically basketball. In high school, I was a four-year varsity athlete for the Warren Township High Schools basketball team. Due to me being 14 years old playing with 18-year-olds, I had to learn quickly how to become proficient at what was asked of me. Throughout my career of playing basketball, I learned key skills that have developed me as a person and worker. I learned to make decisions quickly and without thought but more so through instinct, I learned what it meant to work hard to achieve my goals and the goals of the team, and not only building up my own skills and understanding of the game but also my teammates. With that being said, over the course of the past seven years from ages 14 to 21, I have primarily had work experience in the service industry. I have worked at a fine dining restaurant, a casual dining restaurant, and a fast food restaurant. Over the past seven years of my working experience in the service industry, I have gained an understanding of customer service, interpersonal communication skills, and how to function in a high paced work environment. Now, I currently coach travel basketball through a high school feeder program and an AAU program. I have been coaching for nearly a year and a half at this point where I have learned an understanding of leadership, commitment and dedication to developing the people around me, and making key decisions in stressful times.
