Additional Information

  • Fire District 18 was the first Volunteer fire department to move to having a full-time paid Fire Chief. This move came with growing pains, as the District Secretary was preparing to retire, and the Fire Chief position would be taking over the Secretaries administrative responsibilities. As the Fire Chief I worked with the public, and much of that time was helping during the worst time of their lives. During those times I made timely decisions to save lives and property. As Fire Chief, I held the responsibility of commanding emergency scenes that involved communicating with 911 dispatchers, responding fire apparatus, local and State police and other agencies
