The vWISE Program is an 8 week summer experience for high school students to engage in molecular biology and bioinformatics research. During this extensive program, I analyzed DNA sequences of a type of duckweed called Landoltia punctata, and compared my findings with other species. I attended lectures which developed my understanding of the process of gene cloning and I gained practical skills in using bioinformatic software and tools.

• Gathered, arranged, and corrected research data to create representative graphs and charts highlighting results for presentations.

• Recorded and analyzed data to produce reports of results.
• Completed research, compiled data, updated spreadsheets, and produced timely reports.

The Mini-Med School program through the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) is a 7 week program consisting of sessions with medical students and professors of medicine and surgery. Through this program , I had the chance to further my knowledge of medical topics such as cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, etc. Furthermore, I participated in extracurricular workshops in the program such as: surgical knot tying, suturing, bleeding control, radiology, and anatomy dissections.

• Worked with children of varying age, interest, skill, and developmental levels.
• Led groups of children safely through variety of camp activities.
• Collaborated with other camp counselors to design fun and enriching learning activities for campers.
• Communicated with parents about campers' activities and reported concerns and suggestions to supervisor.
• Assisted in preparing meals and snacks to provide nutritional needs to campers.

• Assisted clients with needs, such as paperwork and arabic translation.
• Supported senior client's experience by encouraging exercise and daily activities
• Transported client to medical appointments and grocery shopping.
• Assisted nurse colleagues in blood pressure checks and medical examinations.

• Assisted New York Blood Center staff in gathering donors for the Florida Hurricane Ian.
• Communicated with donors, ensuring that medical information was kept private and donations will be going to Florida.
• Assisted donors in recovery by providing snacks and water.
