Develop and implement new technical procedures to improve operational efficiency for fiber optic repairs and equipment maintenance.
I am responsible for managing and the maintenance for several Metro and Long Distance Fiber Optic footprints in the Metro Atlanta area and the State of Georgia.
Maintain and follow all safety policies and procedures throughout the Networks to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Coordinate with other departments such as Engineering and Construction for smooth operation of Plant Splicing Packages and Equipment Installs.
Analyze data from various groups to determine areas needing improvement or adjustment.
Create step-by-step procedures for day-to-day tasks to streamline workflow and improve efficiency.
Verify maintainability and reliability of equipment, buildings and facilities, including HVAC equipment, Gensets and DC Rectifying Equipment, to achieve high level of asset preservation at reduced total operating and Maintenance cost.
Contact vendors to procure Construction Crews, Fiber Optic Splicing Crews and various needed supplies for completion of installation and repair projects.
Develop preventive maintenance plans and after hours maintenance windows for repairs fiber optic cable and transmission equipment repairs and upgrades.
I am presently on Verizon's ERT (Emergency Response Team) for the Southeastern US and I am also on Verizon's MERIT (Major Emergency Response Incident Team) for escalated HAZMAT situations.
I currently work in the Atlanta IEN market, interfacing with the Wireless market on a daily basis providing Local and LD transport and routing solutions for the 5G traffic.
