Work History
Senior Claims Representative – Auto Bodily Injury
The Hartford
Scottsdale, AZ
06.2022 - Current
As a Senior Claims Representative in the Western jurisdiction, it is my responsibility to adjust new and reassigned auto accident claims involving complex and pedestrian injuries. While my main role was in the Western Jurisdiction. My duties include investigating coverage and liability for an auto accident, facilitating repairs and expenses, and evaluating injury claims for both represented and unrepresented claimants with the objective of achieving fair and equitable settlements. Desirable resolutions of these claims often require critical thinking skills. Additionally, I am responsible for identifying claims for subrogation, investigating claims alongside our Special Investigation Unit, adequately reserve funds for indemnity, and move vehicles quickly to mitigate storage costs, which I have been recognized as a top performer.
In addition to my duties as an adjuster, Senior Claims Representatives are an extension of leadership. We are both given and independently seek out opportunities to train, coach, and develop claims handlers, which enables optimal job performance and assists them in the achievement of their professional goals.
Inside Casualty Adjuster
Allstate Insurance
Chandler, AZ
06.2018 - 06.2022
As an Inside Casualty Adjuster handling multiple states, it was my responsibility to adjust new claims, and evaluate them for coverage, liability, and damages. These damages included both property damage and bodily injury. Once determined, I evaluated medical records, damage photos, repair estimates, and set reserves based on injuries and treatment to determine and negotiate a proper settlement based on our driver's level of liability. In this position, I provided guidance to newer Adjusters, as well as my peers. I volunteered to be a part of a committee that focused on customer experience. Additionally, I developed a method for managing my time and workload to optimally dispose my claims.
Senior Clinical Administrative Coordinator
United Healthcare
Phoenix, AZ
10.2014 - 06.2018
As a Senior Clinical Administrative Coordinator, I was assigned a number of Nurse Case Managers I was responsible for completing tasks for. These included outreach to potential candidates for our Case Management program, sending various correspondence, and performing searches for available medical/behavioral health providers. In addition, we would create new referrals based on phone calls we received, as well as external referrals to our Case Management program.
My biggest accomplishment at United Healthcare came during an earlier position. I was working for a Medical Records Team and had volunteered to be a part of an Intra-Departmental Communications Committee. In short, I put together a presentation for an application, which was meant to compete with other possible applications. My chosen application lost. However, I then created a training module for the winning application and provided training to our entire department. I was well-rewarded for my efforts.
Team Leader
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market
Phoenix, AZ
03.2011 - 10.2014
As a Team Leader, I was responsible for facilitating the operations of the store. These include receiving both vendor and internal shipments, managing waste and inventory counts, opening and closing the store, and recording sales. Leadership duties included providing training and coaching to our team members, as well as making sure they adhere to the schedule. This required me to establish and maintain relationships with those I worked for, as well as those who worked under me, to streamline day-to-day operations. While the schedule was pre-written, it was my responsibility to make sure that the activities were productive to what was happening on that particular day, so deviations were sometimes necessary.
Sales Floor Team Leader
Target
Phoenix, AZ
05.2005 - 10.2008
As a Sales Floor Team Leader, I was responsible for the general upkeep of my assigned portion of the store. This included overseeing resets and product changes. Leadership duties included developing our team members and providing coaching/corrective action when necessary. In addition, I would write and administer reviews for these team members. Also, Team Leaders shared the responsibility of interviewing potential new hires.
My biggest accomplishment at Target was being able to pilot a Customer Service Walk, in which the Leader responsible would walk the entire store and ask everyone they saw if they needed help finding anything. An executive saw that I was doing this on a daily basis, and decided they wanted to expand it to the entire store.
