United States Navy, United States, Petty Officer Third Class, 03/2014, Present, Enlisted into active duty 24 Mar 2014. Stationed onboard USS George Washington 2014-2015. USS Ronald Reagan 2015-2017. USS Fort McHenry 2017-2019. Assigned to Little Creek Port Operations in Norfolk Virginia 2019-2020. Currently stationed at Navy Medical Center Portsmouth attached to the USNS COMFORT. As a Boatswains Mate Third Class Petty Officer I have completed over 40,000 work hours out to sea over 5 years. Boatswains Mates are known for long work hours and attention to detail. Some qualifications and traits are: ability to work as a unit, properly and effectively communicate with others, set the example as a leader, ability to take criticism, planning and properly executing the work day, ability to ask for assistance when needed, able to train and motivate self and team members, hold personal accountability, set the standard for professionalism, have the confidence and responsibility to accomplish any task unsupervised correctly, and in a timely fashion, heavy lifting, machine operations (I.E Crane Operator, JLG Operator, Winch Controller, Boat Davit Operator, Anchor Windlass Controller, Sliding Padeye Operator). Temporarily assigned to Security Division for 17 months. Responsibilities included gate access control and late night security patrol. Conducting over 5,000 hours on foot patrols with 40 pound security gear (armored vest, Kevlar helmet, knee pads, M16 Service Rifle with loaded magazine, M9 Service Pistol with loaded magazine.). As a Security Sentry; instrumental in completing 318 training drills exercising attention to detail, team work, strategy, and critical thinking skills.
