Maintenance Supervisor - Tour 2-Mail Processing Annex/form 50 position

United States Postal Service
Indianapolis, IN
09.2020 - 12.2021
  • A Tour 2 position, I supervise Electronic Technicians, MPES, MMs, Building Maintenance mechanics, and Custodians. Myself and the other supervisor schedule, assign work in EMARS and keep TACS updated. We work with contractors and the Landlords. We make sure the contractors have had the Safety video before working in our building. We deal with employee disciplines for Attendance and Performance. We handle Step 1 grievances and strive to come to an agreement at the Step 1 level whenever it is possible. We keep up on any MMOs or SMOs for the Processing machines. We assist the Maintenance Manager with other projects as assigned. We all work toward completing tasks and making the Manager look good.
  • Projects: I mentored the 204 Bs. I noticed the file drawer with the Overtime desire and Holiday sign up sheets had duplicate sheets in the batch. I got them to sharpen up their practices of keeping only the original Overtime Desired and Holiday signup sheets filed in the drawer. This resulted in a more efficient and concise source of information.
  • Projects: I noticed the files on the T drive were all over the place. I created a folder called Labor. I put relevant forms with rules from the ELM and the national agreement. I put the latest national agreement in the folder. I created sub folders for employees who were getting discipline. This resulted in a less confusing method of finding the employee and quickly putting together an Investigative interview, submitting a request for discipline and easily typing up a Letter of Warning. All in one folder.

Maintenance Engineering Specialist - Indianapolis P&DC 46206

United States Postal Service
Indianapolis, IN
04.2021 - 08.2021
  • Promoted to Level 19 MES Position effective 1/15/2022. I assist the Manager of Maintenance Engineering Support. In the morning I send out a number of reports: 1) DBCS RPG report, 2) AFCS 200 Estop-Jams-Malfunctions report. 3) GID At Risk report 4) GID Unplanned events Data report 5) GID Unplanned Consecutive Day report, 6) Out of Sequence report for the GID, 7) The GID Downtime report. I address the high utility bills for the district using the Utility Management Systems site. I help coordinate the Lockout Tagout program for the Facility. I'm the EWP Coordinator for the District.
  • Projects: I re-organized the folders on the Maintenance T-drive. I was tasked with looking at the INDY P&DC Facilities EWP Inventory. We were initially at 66.7% which meant we had some missing information regarding our MPE machines and our Non-MPE machines. I started by going through each major machine and checking the power source for each. I then canvased 150 Transformers and determined the power source for each. I entered the information on the EWP Inventory site. After three or four weeks I was able to investigate and update a large number of machines and entered their power sources on the EWP inventory. Presently our overall listing is at 100.2%.
  • Project: The MSAM EXCEL file used to track training for the MPEs and ETs wasn't quite working. I used the HERO Data base to transfer data to an EXCEL file of my own creation. Per my Manager, I separated employees by building and Tour. I also used the information from the NCED to help determine pre Requisites for the classes. In less than two weeks I had completed the file that effectively tracked the training for all the AMTS, BEMS, ETS, MPEs and MMS. I printed them out and fastened them to the walls in my office. This resulted in quick information to reference when we have last minute openings for classes at NCED.

  • In the morning I put out the Downtime report for the GID: any facility with a breakdown of one hour or more is added to the report. I report the Out of Sequence for the GID. I report on the Out of Sequence opportunities for the Best and Worst 5 DBCS machines for the INDY PDC. I assist with the Utility Management Exceptions for the GID. I'm the EWP Coordinator for the GID; I made sure to take the training and update the INDY PDC EWP book. I assist the Manager with Maintenance Selection using ABID. I help with Interviews for Promotion.
  • Project: At the end of the Fiscal Year my manager was tasked with handling all the Step 2 Line H grievances from the Union about 97 grievances. Once my manager was able to investigate and make a decision. I helped her by entering the decisions in GATS. I was able to process at or around 40 of the cases into GATS. I then put the materials in a Flat envelope and mailed them on to Labor. One would think that would be a big help but my manager still had to handle a Lion's share of Step 2 grievances by herself. My manager was able to complete the task and I appreciated the experience.
