During my time as an unarmed security guard, I was responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at a busy commercial property. Each shift, I conducted regular foot patrols, monitored CCTV cameras, and checked identification to control access to restricted areas. One of the key moments in my role was when I noticed a suspicious individual loitering near an emergency exit. I calmly approached, asked a few questions, and notified the supervisor—preventing a potential security breach.

My ability to stay alert, remain professional under pressure, and communicate clearly helped me earn the trust of both my team and the clients. I maintained detailed incident reports, followed all safety protocols, and responded to minor medical emergencies with care and efficiency. The experience taught me the value of vigilance, integrity, and excellent customer service in every interaction.

I served as an unarmed security guard at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, where I was entrusted with the safety and protection of American personnel, diplomatic staff, and the premises. Working in a high-risk environment demanded unwavering attention to detail, excellent situational awareness, and strict adherence to security protocols.

My daily responsibilities included access control, ID verification, screening visitors and vehicles, patrolling sensitive areas, and monitoring surveillance systems. I worked closely with U.S. security personnel and other local staff to ensure a coordinated approach to any security concerns or emergencies. During heightened threat levels, I remained calm and vigilant, supporting lockdown procedures and helping to maintain order without escalating tensions.

One of the most critical aspects of the role was being able to communicate effectively in both English and local languages, allowing me to de-escalate potential conflicts and assist both Afghan and international visitors with professionalism and respect.

This experience shaped my discipline, strengthened my teamwork abilities, and deepened my commitment to protecting people and property under challenging conditions. It also gave me a deep understanding of working in a multicultural, high-security environment while upholding the core values of integrity, responsibility, and respect.
