At the age of 3 years old, the world of singing opened up. The love of singing and performing songs in the local church started at an early age. Grade school started the performing path for musicals and plays with the local playhouse. I found a love for being on stage. Naturally I'm an introvert and shy, but while on stage, I become my character and surprise most people with my love of performing.
I had a lead role as Mr. Potts, and loved every moment of this musical. It's my senior year and this was my last musical of my high school career. I challenged myself this year with a bigger role. I took on more lines, and more solos in songs. I rose to the challenge and my only regret is not being able to perform more than two shows.
I had a small lead role as the shop owner, and sang a big solo, "Supercalifragilistic" . This was a super fun show and I learned so much under the direction of Mr. & Mrs. Barone. They have been in the industry for over 30 years, acting, singing, and directing musicals. I feel honored to be learning from the best in the business.
I had a minor role and was part of the ensemble.
I was a sophomore in high school, and loved learning from the upperclassmen. This show was full of fun technical features and lots of costume changes for me.
I was an incoming Freshman, and we were still dealing with Covid. I was casted with a minor role and ensemble part. This was such a fun show with all the dancing and technical theatrics. We amazed the audience with our tap and actual rain on stage. Tapping on a wet stage was a new challenge and I handled it with grace.
I was in 8th grade and asked by the high school drama teacher to audition. My 8th grade drama teacher sent a video to the high school teacher and she was impressed with my singing and wanted me to audition for Matilda. I was casted as the role of Brucey, a lead role, as an 8th grader. This musical was extremely challenging with dance routines and keeping up with high schoolers. Sadly, the musical was cancelled 2 weeks before performance weekend. This was one of my hardest moments in life. I realized true disappointment and was sad not to perform.
I had a lead role in this musical and the teacher loved my bellowing voice. I learned breathe control and how to hit notes and hold notes for the songs.
I had a main role in this musical. I played the narrator and had the most lines I've ever had. It was a great challenge for me to learn all my lines in such a short amount of time. I discovered I have a gift for memorizing and singing.
This was such a fun musical. I had a minor role, and was in the ensemble. We performed 4 shows in one weekend, and it was a lot of work but so worth it. I learned more about dancing and working as a team.
This season I bumped up to an older age group. I was one of the younger students in this age group. I performed with middle school and some high school students. I had a minor role and ensemble. I thoroughly enjoyed this musical. This was my first musical and I fell in love with all the singing and dancing.
