  • Worked 24 hour shifts as emergency medical dispatch. This included logistics support and talking callers through medical treatment.
  • Trained 1000+ Philmont staff members in first-aid, and empowered them to be the first responders in the backcountry until medical professionals arrive.
  • Trained fourth year medical students how to respond as EMS, and supervising them in the field while treating patients - fulfilling educational credits for medical school.

  • Taught Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) topics to youth of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. These were lunch and after school based programs, weekend events, and outreach programs across the state and at our facility - Adventure Point.
  • Created an outdoor adventure curriculum for a new facility. I facilitated the planning, construction, and programming for: climbing, rappelling, zip line, challenge course, archery, shooting sports, land navigation.
  • Trained volunteers to provide this program and hosted fundraising events with their help.
  • Focused on bringing quality program to at-risk youth and underserved populations.
  • Created a live webseries during COVID for participants to engage in programming at home - boxes of supplies were mailed out in advance.

Living History Interpreter

  • Lived in the backcountry of Cimarron, NM and provided educational experiences about the history and ecology of the area.
  • Taught blacksmithing lessons, gave tours of a historical gold mine, facilitated a gold panning program with youth and adults.
  • Frequently assisted people in medical distress in/around camp - ran Search and Rescue operations and utilized radio communications to communicate with Basecamp.
