This is haris kayani. I’m a 21 old guy who’s obsessed with finding himself by putting myself in hard situations all the times. At times I have got into situations where I had lost hope but getting out of those phases is what makes you grow. Currently I’m studying at JCCC as a computer science major student. I don’t like the idea of being just a student who only studies.I try my best to work on my physique by going gym regularly, playing soccer and other than that work 30hrs a week .

- Before customers came in:
- . Stacking food items from the walk-in freezer to the front line. Preparing fresh chips/ fresh cheese every morning. Cutting vegetables and adding them into the containers. Making sure the dishes are clean at the back. Making sure the tables and chairs for the customers are clean. Cleaning the front line and before the customers came in making of sure of having the food ready as well the back up for the food ready
- When customers came in:
- . Maintaining a good mood and trying your best of providing the customers with quality food and experience . Standing for hours and making sure the food is at a certain temperature for it to be optimal. Keeping the front line clean along with taking orders . Keeping the floor clean at all times. Emptying the trash cans every few minutes for cleanliness . Cleaning the dishes for 7-9hrs on busy days.
- Achievements:
- . Communication skills becoming more stronger. Built resilience as during those days I was studying full time, managing all things at once was a good challenge to overcome. At times customers were rude, being calm and positive in those moments.

- Start of shift, making sure the whole area is clean. Including the floor, tables, machines, chairs. Adding sufficient amount of electrolytes / bicarbs in the tank. For it to be transferred to dialysis machines. String all the machines that will be in use for the shift.
- When patients arrive, make sure to get their vital signs checked. Some patients had a cvc and it was a different procedure to start their treatment. Most of them had a fistula, we had to cannulate them. When the treatment starts every 30minutes we had to check their vital signs , a treatment can range from 3-4hrs . In between a treatment a lot of times situation can get bad be it minor or major. As a pct you troubleshoot with whatever you know and if it doesn’t work . You get used to of hearing constant alarms.
- When patient’s leave, we have to make sure of cleaning the machines and chairs. Cleaning the floor around that area including emptying of trash can. ThenStringing the machine . The start of second shift is fast. In the duration of 30-40 minutes we have to take off 2-3 patients and get started with the treatment of 2-3 patients .
- Other responsibilities apart from cannulation / string machine/ cleaning include:
- . Organising the fistula and cvc packs by putting the necessary items needed. Taking patients weight before and after treatment.
- Traits required to excel at work:
- . Being considerate of patient’s situation and be patient with them. Be respectful and create a freindly and positive environment for the team and patients. Being calm in high pressure situations. Constantly learning from mistakes.
- At the end of day, make sure all the machines and chairs are clean. All the vital signs for the patients are entered at the right time. Turning the alarm, water systems off.
- Personal Achievements:
- . Gained the confidence of dealing with multiple tasks while being in a high pressure state. Built conversation skills by constantly engaging with patients. Built massive discipline by showing up 4am daily.
