- Facilitating over 20+ trainings on restorative justice practices, anti-bias and anti-racism training, as well as other culturally proficient practices to build belonging and mutual understanding for all members of community and workforce so workplace is inclusive and welcoming.
- Evaluating and developing new methods of recruitment for diverse workforce with attention to current hiring practices and implementing new policies for focus on retention of staff for town and school.
- Writing informational, educational, and motivational internal and external memos, speaking to media via print, radio, and video in order to rally community members to understand concerns and gather support for DEI initiatives.
- Conducting interviews, collecting and studying qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions on future strategies, programs, and initiatives and to prioritize goals, create new goals, and implement new strategies.
- Liaison for regional organizations and committees, such as police department, town hall, NAACP, Affirmative Action committee, WHOI, Cape Verdean club, volunteer groups, and other groups to help connect to larger resources and respond as thought-partner in order to grow and develop committees and councils for town and school networks.
- Coordinating and executing event planning for various school and town events such as Juneteenth, voter registration drives, field trips for underserved communities, and other events.
- Collaborated with legal and compliance teams to review paperwork, obtain feedback and procure available information for new training processes.
- Counseled administration, faculty and staff regarding affirmative action, harassment, hiring practices and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues.
- Prepared and submitted internal and external reports.
- Developed strategies to promote diversity in faculty and staff hiring and actively participated in building strong networks and recruitment sources.
- Instructed senior leaders on appropriate employee corrective steps.
