I worked at the firm as a material collector. For any interior design project they would have for a client I would be entrusted to go around the city and find the sample material they were looking for. While traveling all over New York City to find material I got an extremely strong grasp on visually appealing combinations of texture. The wealth of knowledge I learned from each of these samples I was told to get correlated emensly with the materials I chose to use on my future products. This was previously a weekends of mine not knowing which material would work best with what but now through first hand experience has become one of my strongest attributes as a designer.
