  • Oversee all aspects of operations and department functions of the Office of Population Health and Equity (Office), develop an action and strategic plan for the Office, liaise with C-suite executives and leadership to identify strategic direction for the Office, and execute the agency's equity goals, and serve as the subject matter expert on health equity and community engagement for the agency, elected officials and executives.
  • Secured nearly $23 million in grant funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to address health inequities in Orange County to launch the Equity in OC (EiOC) Initiative, a county-wide initiative to create a healthier, more resilient, and equitable Orange County.
  • Oversee all aspects of the EiOC Initiative, including: developing and implementing an equitable grant-making framework, funding over 170+ community and grassroots organizations and community members to build their power and capacity, and building and maintaining positive partnerships with all community partners, elected officials, and systems leaders.
  • Develop and implement an equitable community planning, engagement, and action framework to promote collective impact across community partners, programs, and systems.
  • This resulted in the ongoing engagement of over 170+ organizations and community members to advance health equity. It additionally contributed to the formation of 7 population-specific collaboratives made up of over 80 organizations focusing on health equity issues of the Asian Pacific Islander, Black, Individuals with Disabilities, Latinx, Lesbian Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer, Older Adults, and South Asian Middle Eastern and North African communities.
  • Lead a matrixed team of staff, consultants, and community partners in developing and implementing the EiOC Initiative while ensuring the vision and coordination of all its workstreams to ensure transparency, cohesion, and data- and community-driven solutions.
  • Support in developing equity metrics for COVID-19 and ensured metrics were met, leading to proportional COVID-19 outcomes in Orange County.
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with the agency's leadership team, Board of Supervisors, and community stakeholders. This contributed the Board of Supervisors passing a Resolution Declaring Racism and Inequity as a Public Health Crisis and the creation of the Office of Refugees and Immigrant Affairs.

  • Designed the clinical and triaging flows for the Behavioral Health eManagement Provider Incentive Program, collaborated with platform developers to build out the technology and ensured seamless integration of the platform into providers' electronic medical records, conducted provider engagement meetings and visits to ensure the enrollment of 100 providers to participate in the pilot phase, and managed the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the program.
  • Served as a member of the grant development team that secured a $15 million Clinical Practice Transformation Grant from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
