I always took an interest in being at the front desk, being the friendly face that people see when they come through the door. I learned how to type on a typewriter at job corps, Drums,Pa. I also learned proper phone etiquette, how certain letters and documents are spaced. I did these different vocational classes from May until January most of everyday. I was so excited to graduate, but back then I didn't realize a 17yr old with my experience was not easily hired in the big offices in the city. But Job Corps gave me the intellectual tools I needed that still are with me til this day, even with all the technology changes.
