Mahiku A'o Mai
- Along with owner, planning to transform 7 acre plot into native Hawaiian plant and food sanctuary, safe space and education/cultural center for local community and visitors alike
- Acting as nursery manager, collecting seeds and seedlings of endemic species, coordinating where to eventually plant once ready, and aiming to build an official nursery on site within next few months
Friends of Waterfront Park
- Along with six other volunteers, planted 130 perennial pollinators of 19 different native varieties at the Dobbs Ferry Waterfront Park
- Responsible for maintenance of plots including weeding, mulching, pruning and educating on what was planted
Sustainable Dobbs
- Engaged community in outreach for county-wide food scraps recycling program, succeeding in adding hundreds of new participants into program.
- Collaborated with local food bank to provide food for vulnerable members of community during Covid-19 epidemic.
Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation
- Attended intensive, multi-day professional development workshop centered on purposeful teaching and learning that fosters more socially just and sustainable communities.
- Certified in place-based learning and systems thinking, designed to empower youth to become better earth stewards.
