• In a clinical setting, flyers and informative materials were passed out to individuals about the benefits of testing for HIV and knowing what can be done to help prevent the spread of the virus, such as using Prep and Pep medication. Counseling is also provided about their test results and what next steps they should be taking to minimize their chances of exposure to HIV. Patients that tested positive were immediately linked to care. The results from the tests are inputted into a secure and confidential data base that is accessed by the Los Angeles Department of Public Health. Other responsibilities include attending monthly meetings, community outreach activities, and providing referrals to patients that need additional testing and resources.

• Assisted in documenting information for positive COVID-19 cases throughout Los Angeles county. Gathering information was done by holding interviews with individuals or the guardians of children about any symptoms they may be experiencing. Individuals with COVID-19 were told the latest information from the CDC and what kind of steps they should be taking in order to keep themselves and others safe from coronavirus. Notes from the interview were logged and checked by a team lead daily in a secure database that was collected by the Los Angeles Health Department.

• Assist children at home during various scheduled hours of the day, which are determined by the family as to when the child needs help. The needs of the child various on a case-by-case basis but is usually with schoolwork and social interactions. Some cases due require certification such as CPR or nursing certifications, but such requirements are acknowledged prior to accepting.

Assisted in tracing and logging positive cases of coronavirus throughout the county in an effort to contact the virus as much as possible. Logging data included recording the amount of calls made, who answered, the information that was given, and inputting the data in a log for team lead to evaluate.
