Projects

Development of Cam Driven Pump Jack Design

December 2019

University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

• Designed a cam-driven pump jack to assess if it may outperform a traditional crank-driven pump jack.

• Worked in a functional development group with 4 members in the process of creating a cost analysis, prototypes, materials selection, mission statement, set of customer needs and statements for target customers in order to identify target specifications.

• Created 3-D model components and final assembly using PTC Creo parametric ( CAD Software), conducted Finite Element Analysis on all components using PTC Creo Simulate. Conducted fatigue and stress analysis.

• Created various designs that met target specifications and were economically justifiable. Final design was chosen by using a Scored Selection Matrix.
