  • Shortly after starting, I found out the Oklahoma division had a negative $200K P&L. I worked with the Executive Team to evaluate next steps which included closing an underperforming branch and opening a new branch in a growing market.
  • In under two years, I led a turnaround that took the division from a large deficit to a positive $200K P&L.

  • At this point in my career, I had been in the banking side of the mortgage industry for two decades. I had set a goal of being a Branch Manager and it was time to take that step.
  • I earned my Oklahoma Mortgage License and instead of joining the Leader Mortgage branch in Muskogee, I was asked to lead the expansion of a new branch in the Tulsa market.
  • Due to the ownership agreement, there was a forced sale and the mortgage company was purchased by First Star Bank. Because I had experienced the difference between working at a bank and running my own mortgage branch, I chose to resign.
