I am Jaewon Kim, 18 years old boy. I am from South Korea, but I am really fluent in oral speaking English as I have graduated from one of the popular international schools in China. During my school years, grades and test results that I have received weren't good enough for applying to high ranked university, but seriously I was always trying to help my classmates and be kind and polite. At the graduation ceremony, thanks to my beloved friends and teachers who always tried hard to help me, I was even granted IB(International Baccalaureate) learner profile award 'Caring', meaning that my school life was good enough to be an inspiration of the students attending in my school.

I have had exhaustedly hard time during my high school years. I was diagnosed in OCD, ADHD, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and I have been being treated with many antidepressants and other medications since 2019. Thankfully, my mental condition and status for now is super better than the past, thanks to the God and lovely people around me. Since I also went through such difficult moment because of my psychological disorders, I sincerely know how devastating is it to be having psychological issues. Therefore, I always wanted to be a person who can help people with psychological problems and be ray of hope for them. Even though my final grades from high school wasn't that excellent, I was gratefully abled to get an offer in Psychology BSc major from the University of Exeter. Sadly, I couldn't meet their academic standards in the offer due to my poor grades from high school. However, Still I was sincerely happy to be considered and granted their offer, as well as that experience gave me a bit of hope that I can approach to my dream closer if I try hard. Recently, I was able to talk to someone from Syria, and it made me to be deeply thinking about the people's life in Syria and situation in that country. Since then, I researched more about Syria, and I was feeling so sad and sorry about the devastating situation in Syria. The part that made me to be extremely sad was the Refugees. A numerous number of people in Syria had to leave their home for living and escaping from the war and move to other relatively safe countries. However, many refuge people died while taking on the boat for moving to other countries. Fortunately, there are refugees who were able to be rescued or arrived in the safe countries. However many countries are not accepting those refugees who have gone through tough and difficult situations. These people have settled down and made refugee camp in the countries such as Greece,Italy and etc. Seriously, I was so sorry and sad to hear those stories. I used to complain to myself for having some mental problems, but I was even felt embarrassed after realized about refugee situations. For me, I really want to volunteer myself for helping refugees in Greece, one of the European countries with a number of refugees and having refuge camp. Before I had knowledge about these situations, I only thought Greece as the beautiful country that a lot of tourists visit, and I really wanted to travel there for having good memories and fun. However I was extremely shocked that all these situations are happening in Greece to date. I am Catholic. I go to Catholic Church every Sunday, and I try my best to help people who need help and always trying very hard be kind to everyone. I will be starting my University in Next March, thus I have some time for me to plan everything and go to Greece and volunteer myself to be working in the Refugee camp in Greece as being the member of the Caritas in Greece.
