AAMU Child Development Center, Volunteer, Normal, AL, 2024-01, 2024-04, Assisted teachers with Pre-K students during mealtime, naptime, and other daily routines., Supported five Pre-K students in achieving developmental milestones, including writing and spelling names and learning to tie shoes, Worked with 10 to 15 children daily, completing 50 hours of hands-on childcare experience.

CFUT, Summer Teaching Program, Internship, Wisconsin Milwaukee , 2023-06, 2023- 07, During the Center For Urban Teaching. six-week program, I worked as a teacher for 3rd and 4th grade students where I created and implemented lesson plans that promoted an engaging and productive learning environment. I provided individualized support to students to strengthen their academic skills and increase their confidence in the classroom. I facilitated a group mindfulness session that encouraged students to practice relaxation, focus, and emotional awareness. In addition, I helped plan and organize a field day filled with fun and interactive activities that promoted teamwork, physical activity, and student engagement. I also managed classroom behavior by maintaining structure, setting clear expectations, and creating a nurturing atmosphere where students felt supported and motivated to learn. Through this experience, I developed strong teaching, leadership, communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

S.P.A.N. of Madison County. Internship, Huntsville, AL, 2026- 01, 2026- 05, At S.P.A.N., I completed a variety of tasks that helped support students and the school environment. I greeted students and staff as they arrived each day to create a welcoming atmosphere. I monitored student attendance and followed up with students who were absent or not attending regularly through phone calls, text messages, and emails. I communicated with parents, probation officers, counselors, and other support staff to provide updates and coordinate services for students. I assisted students with completing online assignments, DMV practice tests, and other academic tasks. I provided encouragement, goal setting, and daily check-ins to help students stay motivated and improve their progress. I observed student behavior, offered emotional support, and helped connect students to counseling or additional resources when needed. I also attended meetings, worked on presentations, reviewed referrals, completed documentation, and participated in daily debriefings with staff to discuss student progress and new ways to support each student. Through these experiences, I developed stronger communication, organization, advocacy, and professional skills in a school social work setting.
