Safety Loss Prevention Specialist - Risk Management

  • Provide safety oversight for individual departments, including incident review panels and safety committees; advocate for incident panel reviews and safety committee recommendations.
  • Conduct random safety surveys of various city locations. Surveys include identifying safety concerns or violations; slip, trip, and fall precautions; Emergency light testing, AED inspection and replacement of either batteries and leads; Fire extinguisher inspection; confirm First Aid kits are fully supplied and in good condition. Report any discrepancies or concerns to various departments for correction.
  • Present new employees safety orientation; conduct monthly CDL inspections; update monthly training status reports to Management.
  • Incident reviews consist of creating a panel to discuss employee incidents and accidents, reviewing all documentation, accident reports, and invoices. Discussion among the panel to decide if an incident was preventable and to recommend actions to prevent incident from recurring.

  • Contracts include Armed and unarmed Security, Pest Control, Custodial, Ground Maintenance, Carpet Cleaning, floor maintenance, and pressure washing

  • Review, edit various contracts for bidding.
  • Review submitted bids for approval.
  • Work with contractors on all aspects of the contracts including meeting expectations, inventory, scheduling, and invoicing
  • Budget numerous Purchase Orders for both contractor and special projects
  • During the Covid pandemic, I created schedules and participated in disinfecting many City of Tampa locations on a weekly basis

  • Complete accident investigations and reports that involve vehicles, personal injury,property damage and workman's compensation claim. Report results to Management .
