• Organized and conducted 'A day of learning' tour in Richmond, where we effectively partnered with local officials, minority owned construction companies, mental health professionals, educators and youth, to tour 3 different residential and commercial structures, walked through and assessed what it would take to repurpose those buildings into a secure care facility, in response to 2 new proposed facilities being built
• Successfully defeated the vote to open two new Juvenile Prisons in Hampton Roads
• This action was accomplished by grassroots organizing, developing a comprehensive communications strategy to include press conferences and City Council protests
• Conceptualized and developed the Healthy Community Secure Care Model to replace the current state model of secure care, through a series of statewide visioning sessions
• HCSC was introduced into legislation last year and received overwhelming support from officials
• The policy was sent for a fiscal impact study and the report revealed that our recommendation is what's best for Virginia

• Enlisted the support of community stakeholders and elected officials to reduce the number of youths impacted by Gun Violence in the City of Richmond
• Visit gunshot and stab wound patients daily to build rapport and offer emotional support
• Provide assessment for eligibility and professional documentation of services to youth who are admitted to the hospital for gunshot and stab wounds
• Monitoring and securing confidential information and medical records in compliance with HIPPA
