• Took auto refractions for patients to get base prescription readings, and would read the prescription of the patients' current eyeglass lenses with the lensmeter.
• Performance of Macular Cube and Optic Nerve OCT scans on patients.
With this job, I worked directly with each of the optometrists and sat right next to them, giving them the scans and information they needed to perform their examinations for each respective patient. Direct communication with both patients and optometrists was essential.
• Works with other Optometric Techs to find the best ways to work efficiently and towards the best interest of each individual patients needs, and in accordance to each respective optometrists desires and/or preferences.
Works with software set in place for the optical establishment, literacy and understanding of the software is required. Input of patient records and any changes in or new medical history required. Would fax patient records and scan medical information into the system and patient's medical record.
