My desire to continue and move up in responsibility here at the El Camino fire academy is one that i don't take lightly. My years of dedicated service in the fire service, only furthers my commitment to ensure that the future firefighters we teach have an excellent understanding of the requirements and responsibilities of the job.
I currently serve as an Instructor II for the Fire Academy. My responsibilities include providing for the safe and efficient instruction of all types of firefighting operations. My primary function is one of the lead instructors responsible for all hose operations. I also instruct in many other areas of the academy, firefighter survival, ladders, ropes, etc.
I served 28 Years with the Torrance Fire Department. I served as a Firefighter, Firefighter Paramedic. Firefighter Haz mat, Engineer and Fire Captain. I worked to keep the 170,000 residents of Torrance safe while providing a balanced and safe professional work environment for my crew. I also was assigned as a lead instructor for 3 of the Torrance Fire Academies This gave me the opportunity to supervise and evaluate 40 - 50 probationary employees and ensure that they met the standard of the fire department.
I spent 3 years serving as a firefighter paramedic with the City of Hawthorne . I was assigned to a paramedic squad which responded to bot medical and fire related emergencies.
