Work History

Business Owner

Skinny Wimp Moving Co.
Katy, Texas
05.2016 - Current
  • After Insurance deposits, and equipment costs, I started my Branch of Skinny Wimp Moving Company with $200 to my name. Starting with a single truck, we grew to 3 trucks before the year was over. Within 2 years, we were running 5 trucks, and an average of 150 local and long distance moves per month.
  • I personally trained every driver, and crew member using a combination of warehouse style training, and on job training. I developed a very simple, but very effective formula and process for moving that would allow me to focus on hiring a quality human being, and then bring them to where I need them to be in a very short amount of time. It also allowed a consistent product across multiple crews and multiple employees that ensured a below average claim rate, and a consistent stream of referrals.
  • Scheduled repairs, conducted inspections, and negotiated rates with lease companies to ensure optimal vehicle maintenance and availability.
  • Oversaw DOT compliance, including record-keeping and adherence to safety regulations, TxDMV, and FMCSA requirements to maintain operational integrity.
  • Processed payroll, billing, claims resolutions, and customer complaints to streamline financial and operational functions.

Trainer/Driver

Skinny Wimp Moving Company
Simi Valley, California
02.2014 - 05.2016
  • Started as a Driver
  • Developed training program for new movers, enhancing onboarding experience.
  • Developed training materials for moving techniques and safety protocols.
  • Scripted and acted in new employee training videos, demonstrating wrapping methods learned from years of cross country moving with diverse teams.
  • Trained and developed branch managers for new locations, supporting expansion efforts.
  • After helping expand operations to nearly a dozen locations across the country, I left to start my own branch.

Mover/Driver

North American/Atlas/United Van Lines
Los Angeles, California
01.2007 - 02.2014
  • Started my Moving career at North American Van Lines. Ran as a cross country helper, and eventually local driver/Crew Leader
  • Left to run crews full time for Atlas Van Lines. Got my Class A permit, and Drove as a Co-Driver for about a year.
  • Departed to pursue an operations role at Conejo United, but primarily worked as a driver. Which is what sent me to Skinny Wimp Moving Co.
  • Performed similar job duties at three different companies, focusing on moving operations.
