•Accept and distribute packages and accountable mail using a computerized system which encompasses point of sale and in house data, as well as a national server database.


•Accept and respond to customer claims and inquiries, providing exceptional, friendly, and prompt customer service, while offering information on postal regulations and available services, as well as forming custom tailored mailing and shipping options to fit the customer's individual needs.


•Sort and distribute high volume, outgoing mail and parcels based on delivery routes and required delivery dates, while meeting stringent time constraints and deadlines.


•Perform duties such as maintaining records, facing and canceling mail, labeling and scanning mail for dispatch, and loading mail onto trucks for delivery to distribution hubs nationwide.

An SSDA is also often required to issue collection box keys and gas cards to mail carriers at the beginning of their respective shifts, and to supervise and ensure their secure return at the end of each shift.
