I worked full time for nearly my entire adult life.

Then in August of 2020, I experienced a family tragedy. Our lives were turned upside down, my wife and I, smack-dab in the middle of a pandemic. We had to adjust our living situation entirely while taking on the care of three separate high-needs adult relatives; one of whom I hold legal guardianship over.

My wife and I were able to make both of us working full time while caring for several people close to us a viable lifestyle....for a while. We eventually decided we were running ourselves a bit ragged, and that henceforth one of us would be a full-time homemaker (or home "Manager" if you will) in order to stay on top of the day-to-day needs of our loved ones.

Myself, I was not the breadwinner. That title falls to my wife, so I won the Home Manager sweepstakes, and I worked in that capacity from June 2022 to February 2025.

Our situation eventually progressed as such to allow me to rejoin the workforce, and resume providing a second income within our household.

In January of 2025 I discovered an opening with Core-Mark that would allow me to utilize my rather niche skill set as a knowledgeable Omnitracs systems operator. I applied, was offered the position, and accepted knowing full well that the commute between Salem and Gladstone on a daily basis would be a challenge. And, indeed, it has.

After giving it a go for a year, my wife and I started to explore options closer to home, and found there is an opening at my former employer, Columbia Distributing, where I know from experience that I can be very impactful, and bring a positive team-first attitude to the Routing department.

Those who are lucky enough to hire me will find I am coming back with full force and dedication to whichever company I may land.

In my humble opinion there is nothing more freeing, lifting, and satisfying then following a long trail into the wilderness.
