Jana Davis

I have recently started to do volunteering and service work at the Blazer Kitchen, located in Birmingham, Alabama, in the Student Center Building.

• I work in the pantry section, where I check out different students after they come in and buy canned foods, fruits, drinks, etc.
• It's also my job to make sure that I'm keeping up with how many cans of food, drinks, and fruits that they are allowed to get.

I am currently volunteering and working at Angela Davis Christian Academy, which is owned by my parents. Every summer I go back to my hometown, which is Mobile, Alabama and work at my parents daycare as a nursery teacher. I tend to work there on Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am until 3:00pm.

• My work consists of me feeding, cleaning, and making sure that the babies are safe
• I also help escort the children to their parents during leaving time as well.

I volunteered at the Bridgeways Children of Alabama in the fall semester of 2024. A lot of my volunteering work with Bridgeways Children of Alabama was all virtual, but very interesting and inspiring.

• I had to create affirmative cards for the children, which was my favorite part.
• I also had to take these different online courses, where I would have to log in and look at videos, listen to the different chapters and take a test at the end, to be able to receive my certificate, where I would then have to send it to the head lady for the Bridgeways Children of Alabama.
