VAHPP Vista Community Organizer April 2021 – April 2022 Americorp Vista, Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition

  • Built knowledge on HUD housing issues, identified HUD properties to manage, developed a community outreach plan to identify properties, completed numerous training sessions on organizing principles and tenant rights
  • Founded and lead the People Power committee which focuses on empowering individuals in marginalized communities
  • Hosted and planned a 6-part community conversation series, lead the execution of a two-night candidate forum, following that we created Cincinnati’s first Housing Justice Voter Empowerment Guide
  • Manage 7-8 properties to ensure tenants know their right to organize while coordinating with Legal Aid
  • Empower tenants through gaining media attention which led to multiple news publications, including the front page of the Enquirer as well attending and speaking at multiple city council hearings and an overall increase in relocation stipend

Emerson National Hunger Fellow August 2020 – August 2021

  • Congressional Hunger Center (CHC) placements: Pittsburgh Food Policy Council and the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP)
  • The Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellowship is a social program that trains, inspires, and sustains leaders in the fight against hunger and poverty in the US, attended 50+ trainings on hunger and poverty
  • Published 30-page research report through the CHC called, “Trust Black Women: The Intersection of Housing & Food in Pittsburgh
  • Published an article through the CLASP on the importance of affordable housing from an equity minded perspective
  • Synthesized request for information (RFI) that was submitted to the Biden Administration which focused on best practices for governmental agencies on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
