Summary

My work ethic and goal oriented drive must be genetic. My father and grandfathers both instilled getting up every morning with a goal and getting the job done. I'm a third generation lumber/ hardware man who's creativity has put me into some great situations. My grandfather; Louis Basham had a long lasting friendship with Shot Jackson. Country Music and most importantly the Opry were always my favorite stories told to me. I've been fortunate enough through many community events to develop a talent and joy for booking acts and seeing the show from the initial load in to the load out. They say find what you love and you'll never work a day in your life. Nothing has given me more fulfillment that seeing a show from first inception to completion and having my hand in the mix every step of the way.

Promotor and Booking

Bourbon and Blade
09.2019 - Current

Oversaw the creation and development of Bourbon and Blade a free to the public event held annually in Radcliff, KY. A partnership with Red Hill Cutlery, Boundary Oak Distillery, and the City of Radcliff.

  • Over the last 5 years we have booked many of Country Music's top names of yesterday and today to include Carly Pearce (2025), Gabby Barrett(2023), Chris Jansen(2024), Leanne Rimes(2022), Billy Ray Cyrus(2001), John Micheal Montgomery(2020) as well as many emerging artists with all the top booking agencies in the US.
  • Raised funds through gaining relationships with cooperate sponsors such as Ford, Kentucky Bourbon industry, and national knife brands such as Buck Knives and W.R. Case and Sons, and managed the raised budget to book artists.
  • Promoted event at little cost through relationships with Kentucky Tourism.

Vine Grove Bluegrass Festival

  • Hired 100% of the talent, including sound and production for duration of appointment for last 17 years.
  • 20+ years working and growing relationships with artists and agents.
  • Grew budget and revenue 200% since appointment of position.
  • Gained partnerships with business' and worked exclusively with local government and tourism organizations to add sponsorships that led to growth.
  • In 2022 solely raised funds and oversaw the construction of the addition to the local amphitheatre increasing its stage size, both upgrading its facilities and modernizing its appearance.
  • Worked exclusively with SPBGMA during there Nashville event on artist showcases from 2018 thru 2022, where I introduced new and upcoming bands while providing the Vine Grove Bluegrass Festival with promotion of yearly event.
  • Worked exclusively with the State Theatre in Elizabethtown, Ky on a yearly Bluegrass Christmas event while cross promoting the Vine Grove Bluegrass Festivals yearly event.
  • Worked with the state of Kentucky to create a "Covid Plan" where together we mapped out our event grounds under federal restrictions and hosted the only live event that year in the state.
  • Held position of President for last 5 years and position of Vice President for 5 years before, heading a board through decisions and monthly board meetings.
  • Oversaw all promotional material in both creation and design, everything from creating a website, to the design and printing of shirts, hats, flyers, and posters for duration of appointment.
  • Grew alliance's with other large festivals and developed a network between to support and help with arising questions.

  • Drove company branding efforts to increase market presence and brand recognition. Going from a floor display in 2000 to a 3500 square foot retail footprint adjacent to Basham Lumber Co. to the largest dealer in the state and nationally known retailer in the category.
  • Development of many "special projects" with world known knife companies through my 15 year appointment.
  • 2020 worked alongside the US National Park Service and W.R. Case and Sons; Bradford, PA) in creation of the Abraham Lincoln Boundary Tree project.
  • 2020 worked solely to manage, raise funds, and create the World Largest Pocket Knife (Guiness World Record Holder) for Red Hill Cutlery and the city of Radcliff.
