In the almost four years i’ve spent working i’ve definitely grown an ability to grow quick in multiple busy atmospheres while also learning & working to perfect all skills needed for the jobs. I’ve gone into these atmospheres with very little knowledge or thought of what would be needed or expected of me but with hard work & the will to learn how to adapt i’ve learned what it takes to work in fast paced atmospheres while learning to communicate very well with my peers and customers & take accountability as well as leadership roles to better my work but also the work for those around me. I’m willing to adapt my work & skills to what’s expected or needed of me & im willing to learn.
A lot of my job consists of covering all ends of the work shop such as cooking but also handling the register & talking to customers, taking their orders down & creating conversations with them to really get that connection for a safe space for them to want to revisit.
A majority of my job has to do with cooking/prepping. Cooking foods to a customers liking but also plating & really understanding the style of work that suits the customers best liking. I’ve also worked a bit of the FOH in the restaurant where i’ve taken orders through the phone as well as in person seating them or answering any questions about our menu, hours, etc.
My job originally at chipotle was to just work on the grill & for a very long time it was just that but through time & observation i learned how to get on the line & actually serve the customers. So whenever i had any down time i use to jump both the grill & getting more experience actually talking to customers to build that confidence of socializing.
Some skills i’ve learned but also feel i’ve grown in are definitely:
Multitasking
One on One socializing
Solving problems on spot
Communication
Learnability
