Abstract: This comprehensive catalogue delves into an assortment of privy bottles originating from Cardiff, California that were temporarily loaned to the Palomar College Archaeology Program in 2023. The primary objective of this catalogue is to construct a chronological narrative of the site's occupation dating from the nineteenth to twentieth century through the estimated dating of each bottle’s creation. Through a thorough analysis of bottle shape, finish-type, colour, and maker’s marks, the catalogue seeks to unveil information about the products discarded by the site's occupants, shedding light on consumption patterns and lifestyle choices of the people who lived there. By inspecting and categorising the waste left behind, this catalogue aims to discern valuable information about the occupants, offering a nuanced perspective on their daily lives and what the historical context for the disposal of these bottles might have been.
