Verbally collected medical histories and social statistics to evaluate patient for presence of comorbidities and determine candidacy for study. Entered medical histories into Clinvestigator, EPIC, and eClinicalworks for statistical analysis. Spoke with participants on a weekly basis to follow up on the status of their health goals and track emerging health issues or progresses made, tracked hospitalizations within the study group to provide follow-up calls post-ER visits to provide emotional support. Functioned as a figure of emotional support for patients who wished to share their medical frustrations with a member outside of their medical team. Provided language interpretation assistance to Spanish speaking patients in office. Created a training binder and trained 2 new incoming Health Coaches.
Research Assistant Intern, Hospital for Special Surgery Department of Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Health, [09/01/18-12/15/18] Lead data collector for a research study conducted by Dr. Stein investigating the quality of bone in patients with osteoporotic fractures through use of DEXA scanning. Interviewed patients regarding their medical history to determine eligibility for participation in a study relating bone density to development of osteoporosis. Performed statistical data entry using SPSS and REDCap, 2 clinical research databases. Successfully translated patient questionnaires to allow for Spanish-speaking patients to participate in the study, resulting in improved accuracy of self-reported information.
