I lead a team of eleven, overseeing the production of global broadcasts for The Inside Story and Plugged In, which air via international satellite, are formatted for radio, and adapted for digital and social media platforms. I conduct daily editorial meetings to set content strategy and approve coverage angles across all distribution channels, including web and stakeholder-specific platforms. My role involves regular collaboration with agency and affiliate leadership, advising on news priorities and multi-platform storytelling. I provide final approval on rundowns, scripts, graphics, and guest selections, ensuring high editorial standards and audience relevance. I deliver constructive feedback to reporters and producers, drive cross-platform integration, and oversee studio operations. Additionally, I manage budget allocations and coordinate travel logistics for field assignments, maintaining efficiency throughout the production process.

Impact & Accomplishments

Over time, I have expanded our global reach by adding 30 new affiliates to our distribution network and growing our audience by millions in key markets, such as Ethiopia, E.tv in South Africa, and KTN in Nairobi, Kenya. I have upskilled several reporters into anchor roles, enhancing our roster of rotating anchors, while maintaining cost efficiency. My team and I launched two new content franchises—A Free Press Matters, which highlights the significance of press freedom in America and globally, and Living in America, which showcases the achievements of immigrants in American society. These special projects have received industry recognition, earning honors at the New York Festivals, Clarion Awards Finalists, the David Burke Award for Journalism, and multiple VOA Superior Accomplishment Awards.
