I started dancing at Dance Foundation of Laporte (DFLP) when I was 7 years old and am still enrolled in classes there (age 17). I have studied styles of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Acro, and Musical Theater all while at this company. We have two annual recitals that we prepare for and perform. I have been competing with the studio for 6 years, going to 4-5 competitions a year, always qualifying for and competing at nationals as well. I have attended annual conventions, such as Dupree Dance (Chicago, Illinois), and Platinum Dance Experience (Chicago, Illinois), where I have received a scholarship to Broadway Dance Center in NY. I have spent an estimated total of 20 hours a week at the studio for the past four years.
This past year I have also been with my studio to perform at Disney World with the "Dance The Magic" program where were learned a parade routine and performed it with other dancers from across America.
Some skills I learned while being a dancer at DFLP include:

I also have experience teaching and assisting students of special needs, as our studio works with "Rhythm Works," a program designed to help special needs dancers to grow and learn in an adapted way to them.
I have been on the Varsity Pom and Dance Team for 4 years. I have been selected as a co-captain of the team for 3 of the 4 years. We practice weekly (5-7 hours) and perform at all the home basketball games, as well as competing (3-5 competitions annually) and having an annual showcase in the winter. We go to UDA camp every year at Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN). skills i have learned through the Dance Team are:
June 2023 at UDA camp, I was selected for the All-American Dance team; only the top 12% of dancers who audition are selected. This past December I went to Hawaii to perform in the annual Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade alongside 800 other girls from across the nation.
Independently, I went to a dance intensive through the CPR Dance Company (Stevensville, Michigan) in December (2023), where we studied Ballet, Modern, and Improvisation alongside members of the company.
