Job overview

This position physically receives all inbound materials, segregates materials by commodity, receives the items into the ERP system, performs put-away for all production materials, performs cycle counting and transfers material to different storage locations within the plant researches and resolves inventory issues and makes appropriate recommendations for adjustments in MRP system. May perform shipping functions as needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of all receiving duties.
  • Oversee the receipt of purchased goods verifying counts and quality.
  • Completes transactions to receive product, process paperwork and complete all necessary transactions according to established procedures.
  • Inspect freight upon arrival, document any signs of damage, and resolve freight claims in a timely manner.
  • Moves product via forklift and pallet handlers to and from various areas of the warehouse.
  • Organize inventory to reduce margins and improve shelf-space efficiency
  • Cycle count inventory according to established guidelines and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in maintaining accurate inventory and / or materials records.
  • Understands process and participates in physical inventories.
  • Solid knowledge of MRP (Material Requisition Planning) system
  • Identify and resolve recurring and non-recurring problems with limited supervision.
  • Solid knowledge of computer processes in work area.
  • Cross-trained and effectively perform Shipper 1 Receiver duties.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
