Work History

Assembly/QC Assistant

Permobil

  • Enhanced team efficiency with meticulous record-keeping of all assembling data, ensuring easy access and analysis.
  • Aided in streamlining workflow processes through effective communication with team members, supervisors, etc.
  • Go to my workstation at start of my shift and go to computer to download everyday the assembly software to record the multiple assemblies I did in 8 hour shift.
  • Next, went to get my materials which consisted of instructional pamphlets that went with each assembly order that got shipped out.
  • Then, I would go get large carts full of wheelchair assembly items along with covers that went with them.
  • Next, I did my inspections of checking for to see if covers were dirty or had any sticky residue on them or had any flaws(rips or tears) cause if there were any then I would take the cover to my lead and she would take it to the sewing dept to have a new cover made for the customer order. If cover was dirty then I would spray water on it to clean it off or spray "Simple Green" solution if cover had any sticky residue on it. Next inspection I had to do for each and every order was measure it with caliper or micrometer tool to make sure the foam cushion pc was the right size (width & height) according to the order.
  • Finally I put the cover on the foam cushion pc and zip it up from either left to right or right to left depending on which side the zipper pull was sewn on the cover. Then stretch the cover out a bit once it was on the foam cushion piece to make sure it fit on the foam piece properly. Put the covered foam into the bin with the customer order once it was completed, scanned it in the computer and sent it down the line on conveyor so it could be taken to the packing dept to be boxed and ready to be shipped.

Worked in Singles Outbound Packaging Dept.

  • Started the day by going to daily morning meeting, then going to the board and finding out what station I would be working at for the day/entire shift.
  • Then, I would go to that particular station and sign in with my badge on the computer at that station.
  • Next, I would pull down a bin (full of "singles" items to ship) off the conveyor belt & onto my station's desktop:

1.) Grab 1 "singles" item at a time, scan the barcode on the item and find out on computer screen what size bag to put item in.

2.) Next, grab that particular size bag that computer told me to put item in, put the item inside the bag and as shipping label is printing out, flip the bag over, take silver strip off and fold the bag over to middle part of bag and seal the flap onto the bag.

3.) Turn the bag over again and place the shipping label onto the lower middle part of the bag. Then, I place the sealed package onto the bottom conveyor belt.

Then, I continue the process/

(steps 1-3) until the entire bin is emptied out. Next, I grab the next bin in line on the top conveyor belt and repeat the same steps (1-3) until it is emptied out and then continue grabbing bins till there is no more or ten hour shift has finished. Lastly, I clean my work area in last 10 minutes of shift.
