JENNIFER HUGHES

• 2008-2016: Taught as an ESE teacher in both the general education setting as a VE teacher and in the ESE setting as an EBD teacher. This ranged from pre-k level students to 8th grade students at the following three schools: Bay Point Middle School, Sandy Lane Elementary School, and Seminole Middle School
• 2016-2020: Taught Reading to general education students at the middle school level at Seminole Middle School
• 2020-Present: Taught AVID classes at the middle school level at Seminole Middle School.

While in these teaching positions I have mastered the following:

• Developed strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues by maintaining open lines of communication and fostering a supportive learning environment.
• Enhanced classroom engagement through the use of interactive teaching methods, such as group projects and hands-on activities.
• Increased student literacy rates by implementing targeted reading strategies in individualized instruction plans.
• Managed classroom behavior effectively by establishing clear expectations, modeling appropriate conduct, and consistently enforcing established rules and consequences.
• Supported students in developing social skills through structured activities and positive reinforcement techniques.
