Lead the strategic planning and execution of 40+ national events annually for cross-functional departments, ensuring experiences align with mission and goals.
I am excited to apply for the Director of Events position at the Colorado Technology Association. With more than 19 years of experience leading high-impact events from concept to execution, I bring a deep passion for creating memorable experiences and a strong commitment to community engagement. CTA’s mission to foster innovation and connection within Colorado’s dynamic tech ecosystem deeply aligns with my professional values and experience.
One of the events I’m most proud of was a national hybrid conference I led for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society that brought together more than 1,200 attendees from across the country. Coordinating both in-person and virtual elements required extensive cross-functional collaboration, real-time flexibility, and contingency planning. Just days before the event, several high-profile speakers had to cancel due to travel issues. With fast pivoting and strong vendor/speaker relationships, we replaced them with impactful alternatives without disrupting the experience. The event earned record satisfaction ratings and deepened engagement with our donor base.
Managing multiple events simultaneously is a daily reality I embrace with structure and creativity. I rely on a comprehensive project management approach that includes timeline mapping, digital tools (like Monday.com and Cvent), stakeholder check-ins, and delegation of roles among internal teams and contractors. This allows me to maintain clarity across all projects while ensuring each event feels intentional, aligned with organizational goals, and executed with excellence.
In my current role, I lead the planning and execution of more than 40 events annually, ranging from roundtables and retreats to conferences and celebrations. I oversee venue and vendor contracts, develop scripts and run-of-shows, ensure sponsor and stakeholder alignment, and serve as the lead on-site contact. I bring this same level of ownership, energy, and creativity to every event I touch.
As a Certified Meeting Professional with roots in Colorado and a love for the tech and nonprofit communities, I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to CTA’s mission and event excellence. I would be honored to bring my experience and leadership to your team.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to speak further.
Warm regards
Jenn Mazzotta
