Jen began practicing yoga as a tween in the 1980s in teacher Sandy Halpert’s Staten Island basement studio. From those early days of twilight yoga class alongside her mom and her mom’s friends who sometimes had too much wine at dinner before class, Jen fell in love with yoga and developed a 30-plus-years-long practice. Jen teaches an align and flow-style class that welcomes students of all levels, and which has a strong focus on muscle engagement, alignment, and building strength. Jen’s goal for her classes is to have her students walking on air and feeling a deep sense of calm as they leave the studio, inspired to take on any challenge off the mat. Jen is also a certified teacher of Yoga Nidra, guided deep relaxation meditation. In addition to teaching yoga, Jen is a certified holistic nutrition counselor who has been in private practice since 2009. In an earlier life she was an editor at MTV News and Elle.com.
