- Assist cardiologists as a scrub tech for Electrophysiology Studies, Ablations, and Cardiac Implant procedures
- Take part in critical activities such as monitoring, recording, and circulating
- Prepare the room, set up and organize equipment to prepare for procedures and tests, adhering to protocols to minimize machine damage and patient injury
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care
- Prepare tools and supplies for procedures
- Organize and lay out instruments and supplies as directed in surgeons' preference cards
- Maintained reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment, including decontamination, cleaning, sterilizing
- Count and recorded sponges, instruments, and needles at beginning and end of surgical procedures
- Use retractors, sponges and suctioning and irrigating equipment to create unobstructed operating fields
- Collect tissue specimens for laboratory analysis
- Ensure all EP lab equipment is sterile, functioning properly, and properly maintained
- Reduce exposure to radiation using beam-restrictive equipment and shielding techniques
- Monitor and record patient vitals during EP procedures
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
- Apply principles of radiation safety and protection to minimize exposure to the patient, self, and others
- Monitor ECG/EGM and hemodynamics during diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Record baseline measurements and measure intervals
- Operate ablation unit and stimulator, as well as calibrate lab equipment
- Practice proper infection control measures and verify proper function, cleanliness, sanitization, and expiration dates of supplies before use
- Maintain proper sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination during procedures
- Adhere to isolation and infection control procedures
- Open sterile drape packs, catheters, equipment, and supplies using aseptic technique
- Perform electronic charting
- Apply dressings to puncture sites and evaluate/obtain hemostasis of vessels post-procedure
- Clean equipment between patients and dispose of infectious waste properly
- Properly handle contaminated materials
- Properly dispose of sharps
- Assist in preparing rooms for subsequent procedures
- Ensure case turnover time meets department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing patient care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

- Answer the telephone and relay calls/messages to the appropriate person in a timely manner
