Worked to resolve bodily injury claims that our insured may have been responsible for. The ultimate goal was for the claimant to sign a legal document releasing our insured from any further liability from the accident, and avoid lawsuits or trials.

Gathered photos and estimates of the claimant's vehicle to establish if injury was likely or possible. If injuries were deemed to be highly unlikely or impossible, this was advised to the claimant.

Gathered all bills and records from the claimant's treatment. Reviewed these bills and records to identify any unnecessary or unrelated treatment.

Frequently communicated with attorneys regarding their client's treatment and/or settlement. Reviewed their demands and negotiated settlements based on the review.

Our goal is to successfully argue arbitrations that are filed against the company.

Collected all relevant evidence- police reports, recorded statements, photographs, letters, vehicle estimates, etc. Continuous follow up until these items are available.

Created scene diagrams based on statements, the scene location, and points of impact.

Combined all of the information to write lengthy contentions defending the company's standpoint.

Consistently in the top quartile of all arbitration adjusters countrywide; one month was ranked #2 in the company.

In this position I handled more complex claims, such as possible shared negligence and coverage concerns.

I identified if an accident was shared fault and resolved the claim accordingly using all available evidence. I ordered police reports, created scene diagrams, and took recorded statements from any pertinent parties in the loss. Once liability was resolved I advised all relevant parties of the outcome.

I investigated coverage issues on the claim, such as a policy being cancelled prior to the accident, or a vehicle being involved that was not listed on the policy. Investigating these issues included researching and understanding specific policy language, gathering relevant documents such as a bill of sale or a police report, and taking recorded statements from parties involved. Whether or not coverage was provided for the loss, the outcome was explained by me to the customer.

Handled first party medical claims, including PIP and Medpay. I reviewed bills to ascertain that they were reasonable, related to the loss, and medically necessary. I handled these claims until the insured resolved their injury or exhausted their coverage.

Worked directly under the training supervisor of new hires. Coached new hires from the first day of training until they went to the "floor" and were able to work independently, which was about a 6-8 week process.

Each training class consisted of about 15 people, and each coach had a team of 5 to focus on. I taught my team the computer system, the phone system, and the entire claims process. I was responsible for reviewing each person's files and going over any areas of improvement with each person individually. I sat with them while they took calls, and then reviewed how those calls went, what went well, and what could have been said differently.

I had 3 teams in my time as a coach, and was rated highly when they reviewed me at the end of their training.

Filed new claims on all types of losses. Advised customers of which coverages would apply, and explained the next steps to resolve their claims.

Advised liability on clear cut accidents. Recognized when liability needed further investigation and assigned to the proper adjuster.

Consistently ranked in the top 10 claims adjusters for the entire Tucson office.
