Develop therapeutic relationships with pregnant and parenting women and their families in a home-visiting environment

Assess physical, emotional, social, and environmental needs of clients and respond with appropriate education, support, and referral resources

Perform assessment and management of individualized newborn and maternal care to assist mothers with physical, emotional, and cultural needs during the postpartum period

Identify interventions needed to prevent infection and heavy bleeding, promote normal bladder and bowel function, and educate and assist with breastfeeding

Conduct orientation and annual performance appraisals for all staff, identify work related goals, and develop strategies for individual and organizational achievement

Triage patient telephone calls, administer prescribed medication/treatments, perform one on one patient education/lactation consults

Perform bedside lactation rounds daily in Couplet Care, NICU, and Labor and Delivery Units as well as consulting with mothers of infants readmitted to the pediatric unit with feeding problems

Perform assessment and management of individualized newborn and maternal care to assist mothers with physical, emotional, and cultural needs during the postpartum period

Provide pre- and post-procedural care and education to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, coronary artery bypass grafting, and pacemaker/defibrillator implantation

Triage obstetric and gynecologic patient telephone calls under MD supervision

Assist physician with in-office procedures and obtain patient vital signs

Schedule in-patient/out-patient surgeries
