NASADAD’s basic purpose is to foster and support the development of effective alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and treatment programs throughout every State. As the sole Meeting Planner for this organization, I was responsible for all flight, hotel, and catering arrangements as well as gathering materials for meetings.
While serving as Meeting Planner of NASADAD, some of my outstanding achievements include: Able to secure meeting space at The Mayflower Hotel (Spring 2002) within two weeks notice and secure rooms for attendees below the per diem rate of $150/night. Also provided a delicious Italian buffet (the attendees applauded!) I negotiated a rate of $99/night at the Jury’s in DuPont Circle in 2002 for a group of 23 meeting attendees. At the 2001 Convention in New Orleans, upon arrival I discovered Hospitality placed wine bottles in all the guests’ rooms (no alcohol was to be provided). I quickly called Hospitality and had the issue corrected before the guests arrived. (All but two bottles were collected out of 250 bottles)
