Duties of staffing coordinator is to maintain a 24-hour daily and master staffing plan, which produces timely shift- specific schedules to maintain the best and cost effective staffing level for nursing-related jobs. Responsibilities also include maintaining awareness of changing conditions within the unit to which potentially impacts staffing needs.
Staffing Coordinator requires ongoing communication with work units to quickly distinguish and reassess ongoing staffing needs and ensure that schedule is appropriately adjusted to meet demands in a timely and most efficient manner. Information taken by phone, emails and verbal demand must be appropriately reported as accurately as possible into the correct log. Participates in a daily morning huddle to report staffing concerns for every working unit as well as working closely aside with the Hospital Supervisor. Answer multi-line phones, screens and direct telephone calls, provides information in response to general inquiries from staff.
The main duties include updating the operating board with the patient's name and procedure type. This involves constantly tracking the White OR board and Genesis Power Chart to monitor the patient's progress during the procedure. Additionally, I track how many first cases have entered the operating rooms promptly.
My tasks also include documenting tissue orders and monitoring vendor check-ins. I am responsible for posting procedures for the following day, ordering and receiving disposable supplies, and creating SAP purchase orders. I answer telephone calls, record accurate messages, and relay them to the designated staff. Also, I contact the specific medical ward to let patients know they needto prepare for the operating room. I communicate pertinent information and potential issues to physicians and nurses, and I do front desk duties as needed. Monitored medical supply levels to confirm sufficient stock, promptly placing replenishment orders before depletion.
