Usually lifeguarding duties were to always stay vigilant and ready for action even though there was almost no problems as we are taught to keep a tight knit swimming environment. One particular time though when i was monitoring the water at shipe pool a mother unknowingly had let her infant daughter alone near the deep end. I saw her struggling a little bit and right when I was about to ask her if she was okay or needed assistance she screamed for help. I quickly dove into the water and scooped her up with my floatie. Fortunately she was okay and i handed her back to her mother safe and sound. She did end up having to miss 30 minutes of pool time per safety regulations.
