• Responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for the Heart Transplant Program at BIDMC. Transplant services include, but not limited to, all aspects of the transplant process: transplant surgery, organ acquisition, follow-up clinic visits, admissions, cost of labs, diagnostic testing, and co-payments of outpatient prescription drugs
• Works with patients and families from referral through post-transplantation in a compassionate and tactful manner, in order to help facilitate access to, and provide, continuity of care.
• Participates in the weekly Patient Selection Criteria Committee meetings and multidisciplinary clinics to provide financial insurance expertise
• Routinely monitors insurance coverage for patients throughout all phases of transplant, particularly while patients are waitlisted for an organ

I was hired full-time at Boston Children’s Hospital in July 2022. I worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta remotely on weekends to assist their transition. I formally left Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in March 2023.

• Managed high-volume work queues to comply with the new Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services mandate which provides patient's with a self-pay estimate prior to the date of service
• Created scripting for patients and families which is used system wide
• Enforced Children's self-pay policy which requires an 85% deposit for scheduled surgeries, procedures, and radiology services
• Assisted families in applying for financial assistance, charity, external charities, and Presumptive Eligibility Medicaid
