My journey in operations and leadership began at Amazon's Bondurant facility in February 2021, where I started as a Tier 1 Associate. What set me apart early on was my ability to quickly grasp complex processes and my natural inclination to help others succeed. Within just three weeks of starting, I was promoted to Learning Ambassador – one of the fastest progressions in my facility at that time.
What really shaped my career trajectory was my commitment to both operational excellence and people development. I took on multiple indirect roles, including water spider, problem solver, and down stack operations, which gave me a comprehensive understanding of the facility's operations. This versatility allowed me to tackle challenges from multiple angles and develop innovative solutions.
A defining moment in my career was when I identified and presented critical safety improvements through the GEMBA process. I noticed issues with U-boat equipment brakes and implemented a pallet-based alternative that significantly enhanced workplace safety. I also designed and implemented a 5S workspace organization system that improved efficiency across the facility.
As I progressed to Process Assistant roles in both Inbound Stow and Dock operations, I focused on developing systems that would improve both efficiency and safety. One of my proudest achievements was implementing a strategic trailer allocation system that improved throughput while maintaining our high safety standards.
Throughout my career, I've maintained a strong focus on people development, having trained and mentored over 40 associates in various roles. I believe that strong operations are built on well-trained, motivated teams, and I've always strived to create an environment where both processes and people can thrive.
What drives me is seeing the direct impact of process improvements on both operational efficiency and team member satisfaction. I've learned that success in operations isn't just about meeting numbers – it's about building sustainable systems and developing people who can maintain and improve those systems
