Using hand tools to take apart Dies and make adjustments such as pneumatic grinders, Impact Drivers, hand drills, US and standard Sockets and Allen Wrenches, Sheet metal Shears, vice grips, crescent wrenches. Use Precision measuring equipment to do precise layouts and determining precise hole locations using height gauges, dial indicators, coaxial indicators, calipers, use a digital readout and edge finder to determine precise hole locations when building Die blocks. Hold tight tolerance +- .0005 when making Forming Blocks, Cutting Blocks and die parts, Use precision Measuring equipment to measure finished parts and set clearance using inside and outside micrometers, calipers, height gauge, machinist square, digital readout, thread gauge, and feeler gauge when setting clearance. Perform Die repair and maintenance, Sharpening flat cutting blocks and cutting blocks with multiple relief angles using Manual and automatic Surface grinders, Make sheet metal shim for freshly sharpened blocks, Replace Broken die parts such as dowel pins, die buttons, spring loaded and manual stops. Arc Welding Broken die blocks and Cutting Blocks using special tool steel welding rods and mig welding for non tool steel parts. Heat treat A2 steel cutting blocks harden and temper to Rockwell 57-59 as well as 4140 steel to rockwell 45-47. Respond to on call service to production floor to make hydraulic adjustments and on sight die changes for production setup and minor repairs, use forklift to transport and flip dies.

Responsibilities include, unloading steel I beams from a truck using an overhead crane and moving them from the upper bay to drill line, breaking apart bundles to take out a single beam and positioning it on the table to be drilled by the drill line. Choosing programs, writing programs, and editing programs to be used to drill particular beams based on the work order, blueprints, and hole patterns. Choosing the right tooling based on hole size and hole patterns. Meeting the standard quota of 8 beams per night drilling up to 12 beams on a good night, Sharpening tools with a precision diamond sharpener before shift, greasing bearings, maintaining coolant levels, and keeping drill line clean at the end of the shift. Using a overhead crane to transport drilled beams on a industrial saw conveyer belt to measure the beam and cut it down to size.

• Operating and drawing programs for a CNC Multicam router to cut various Materials For sign parts ranging from Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Wood, aluminum, Steel, brass, and aluminum plastic composite material "Renabond". Responsibilities include, Starting the machine, attaching the compressor hose to the machine, Using computer aided software to draw programs for tool paths, tool depth of cut, selecting the right tooling, calculating speeds and feeds for the material to be cut, selecting the material to be cut. Using the machine vacuum to hold the material in place via suction, zeroing the machine using manual controls a probe and grounding clamp, and keeping my work station clean.

• Operate a Plastic Extrusion line in a fast paced evironment. Keep the Hopper filled with Plastic pellets, Select the proper material based on the work order. Measure the parts with digital Calipers and make sure the extruded parts are within specifications and Tolerance. Scrap any defective parts by scoring it with a box cutter and feeding it into a Grinder to be placed back into the hopper so it can be re-used. Keeping track of how many parts are made from the extrusion line and packaging the finished product and keeping the work station clean.

• Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC mills to produce parts. Responsibilities include, Choosing the right stock based on the work order and number on the material, Choosing the right oil for the machine and replenishing when needed. Securing the material on the machine with Vice or fixtures depending on the Machine being used. Starting or stopping operations on the Fanuc controls, Monitoring any error in codes watching the MCU, Unloading and deburring the part. Using Digital Micrometers and Calipers to make sure parts are within tolerance. Keeping work station clean, unloading chips into the proper bin based on material being cut, monitor coolant levels and refill machine with proper levels of coolant.
